When it comes to professional social networks where you can not only generate B2B leads but also share your thoughts related to your industry, LinkedIn tops the list. There exist numerous strategies to market your brand, company or product over social media. There are a number of useful strategies and trends that one can employ to optimize their Linkedin marketing.
To help you navigate these uncertain times, we have curated a list of trends you can use to market on Linkedin in 2020.
Targeting a narrow audience does not harm your business and you can focus on catering to a narrow set of interests and challenges. In terms of marketing, when you write a post specifically for a specific job role and that too in a predefined geographical location that speaks and understand a specific language, you can be more efficient at that point of time.
Content is what matters the most
‘Content is king’ as the saying goes, and I can’t agree more to it. It has been the kind, it is and will be at the same level of importance. When we talk about the quality of content, it does not only refer to a piece of content written by a native writer where the grammatical errors are minimum.
Quality content refers to a content copy that can be understood quickly, that is relevant to the audience and written in words that the audience is familiar with; and that contains a clear call to action.
Track, measure and analyse
If content is king, data analytics and insight is the queen indeed. As far as you track your marketing efforts, actively analyse them all and make all your decisions based on data, the chances of you getting success increases.
Data guides you better than any book about marketing.
Leadership (live by example)
It doesn’t matter how many times you may have failed, what matters is how you picked yourself up and dusted yourself off and learned from the experience.
You can help your customers better if you have been there and done that. Actually getting through a challenge and getting over from them with a solution makes you efficient and helps you deal with any similar challenge in the near future.
Share what you’ve gone through, how you dealt with that and how you succeed. This lets your reader know that you can help them out in case they are facing a similar challenge. That generates a load of inbound leads for you organically through LinkedIn or any other social media channel.
We all have witnessed a huge shift towards automation in the digital marketing industry. Social media marketing has been one such part of it where the automation was adapted the most. Linkedin marketing is one of the most professional marketing channel for B2B business and this linkedin marketing is one of the most crucial topic.
We asked a few Indian bloggers about their predictions about Linkedin Marketing Trends of 2020. We have summed up all there responses below.
Sathish Arumugam - Traffic Crow
Microsoft recently releases its Q1 FY20 earnings reports. From which, it is noted that – LinkedIn revenue increased by 25% year over year. Especially, LinkedIn marketing solutions are the fastest-growing segment, say 44% boost year over year.
LinkedIn also entered into agreements with technology companies like Drawbridge integrating technology into its marketing solutions. Damn sure that this will help LinkedIn users to better reach, engage and convert their professional target audiences. More updates like this are lined up in 2020.
And in the recruitment section, LinkedIn always come up with innovative strategies like Talent Solutions, Talent Insights, Talent Connect, Glint, and LinkedIn Learning. Yet another from the LinkedIn team – LinkedIn’s Skills Assessment helps members to showcase the proficiencies better to the recruiters. This is going to perform well in the upcoming year 2020.

LinkedIn has been an automatic lead generator for me. As our company Digitofy Global, is into Organic Digital-Marketing Services, I receive inbound queries on my LinkedIn account. This is probably due to my active LinkedIn profile and clear cut professional headline.
People generally misunderstood between Professional Title(which can be CXO, Manger or so) and Professional Headline(that defines your expertise like mine which is Organic Digital-Marketing Specialist).
You must have the right professional headline so that people can understand it on one go and connect with you for your services or products.
In 2020, personalization is the key. People now know the difference between an Advertisement sent to you and a personal message.
On LinkedIn, you are connecting with people professionally and for that instance, you cannot just send them a general message like Hi Sir/Mam/Dear.
You need to send them personal messages mentioning their names as a priority. For 2020, my mantra is personalization and creating value in people’s life.

LinkedIn is one of the best places to find your B2B customers and it’s found that more than 80% of your social-generated B2B traffic comes from LinkedIn. I found this data in 2019 and I am sure this B2B traffic will increase by a big percentage in 2020. So, for all business owners, LinkedIn is the place to utilize high-quality business opportunities. Well, in 2020 also I believe the core LinkedIn marketing trends will be in the highlight.
1) Getting the right audience is the biggest challenge in every marketing technique. As LinkedIn is the best source of B2B customers, there is no point to bring this huge traffic and get less conversion. So make sure to provide enough detailed or specific business data on your LinkedIn company page so that you can get the targeted B2B customers and grow your business.
2) Content marketing is the best way to convince your customers of the benefits & usefulness of your product. Make sure to create useful content that is easy to read and understand the actual usefulness of the product rather than just exploring the features.
3) Don’t miss the trend that people are expecting. Make sure to add relevant infographics or videos on your content as the demand now is huge and will be insane in 2020 for sure.
Producing and spreading the right content will be the key to promote your business on LinkedIn in 2020. That will be the key trend that will help you to spread your business reputation and help you to grow your brand in a B2B environment.

People used to think that LinkedIn is just a job platform. But no more. LinkedIn has become the most important professional social media network. If you are in the B2B industry, you can’t miss out on LinkedIn. Because, the organic reach that LinkedIn is giving is way too higher than Facebook or Instagram.
Also, more recently LinkedIn is aggressively pushing users to create short-form B2B video content. Similar to other platforms LinkedIn is also giving video content a huge push. Your videos need to be less than 10 minutes to be published natively in LinkedIn. Producing content on LinkedIn Pulse is also a great way. They are pushing brands to treat LinkedIn as their content hub. Added to this, the organic reach and the LinkedIn articles rank well on Google.
If you are promoting your products and services on LinkedIn, you need to first educate the audience through your value-added articles and videos, and then consider soft-pitching your products and services to them. Demonstrating value is very important first-hand. Because, the people who interact with your content will most of the times be professionals – and sometimes job-seekers depending upon your content.
Many people think that LinkedIn can’t sustain, as it has competitors like Facebook. But that’s simply not true. LinkedIn does not consider itself as a competitor to Facebook, as it is geared towards professionals.

We recently had the opportunity to test Linkedin traffic when we hired content writers for our content writing agency 3 months back. Before trying Linkedin, we tried almost all platform but didn’t get any big success with them because the quality of the content writers was not upto the mark.
But the quality from Linkedin was way more better than other platforms.
We did the InMail lead ads and they worked like charm for us.
InMail ads are one of the most effective ads because we all have the habit of checking our inbox. We might skip the newsfeed but we never skip the mailbox. So this one human psychology helped us a lot to get in touch with the potential writers and we were able to hire the best.
Linkedin is such a great platforms of professionals. This is the platform where people come with the clear mindset that they are something. As compared to Facebook and Twitter, LinkedIn in not for the masses. You will always find experts on this platform.
So Linkedin is the right platforms if you want to hire experts in your business.

There are various ways to promote or market your product on LinkedIn. But, not all tactics work well because of unplanned posting. I always advocate the “Content”. Yes, words have POWER, and when you have to market your product on LinkedIn, make use of your creativity and write something very interesting and then post that in your feed. Few things you should do for better reach:
1. Make use of relevant hashtags with your post.
2. Make use of LinkedIn groups.
3. Have a company profile on LinkedIn.
4. Before promoting your product on LinkedIn, make sure you have targeted connections..
These things are working now, and will work great in 2020 as well.
However, if you ask me a favourite strategy, then I would go with the trend, and would suggest you to create an Explainer Video for your product, and post on your LinkedIn profile. This will connect more people in 2020
