What's your opinion about the impact on digital marketing jobs?

There will be more jobs in digital marketing due to Covid 19 as many small business & medium sized business are crippling and they now understand the importance of digital marketing. So its better for people to learn about digital marketing & learn any skill in digital marketing like SEO, Google Adwords or Facebook ads.

What's your take on advertising budgets post Covid19?

There will be huge spend on digital marketing campaigns for industries like Health, Food delivery, Gaming & elearning will be spending more and people in these niches will see more cash, as they in every crisis there is an opportunity.

There will be a slight decrease in digital marketing jobs availability in 2020 but after that it will increase at a rapid pace.

What's your take on advertising budgets post Covid19?

Companies will start spending more on digital marketing. However, I do not see much increment in their overall marketing budgets. They will just allocate a greater percentage of overall marketing budgets to digital marketing.

Digital marketing is going to become the essence of a business in future. Once the lockdown is over, most of the business partnerships would have come to an end due to this uncertainty. All of the business would be looking forward to find new avenues to find partners, clients and customers. Find that digitally is going to be much more safer and much more easier comparing to offline marketing.

What's your opinion about the impact on digital marketing jobs?

“There’s no denying the fact that plenty of companies are laying off their employees, be it in any sector (including, digital marketing).

However, in the case of digital marketing, the impact of COVID-19 will depend on the following factors:

1. Founders of the company – Are they panicking due to the pandemic or are they pro-active about it and taking informed decisions to make proper changes in the current scenario of the business.

2. Prime income source of the company – If you work in an Agency, who completely relied on the clients for generating revenue and profits, then there’s a huge chance that you can be let go from the company.

Additionally, the industry of your clientele makes a huge difference. If your clients were from travel industry, you will see a huge dip. However, if your clients were SAAS or healthcare companies then you can expect an increased marketing budget in some cases.

However, if you work in a company that has a diversified portfolio which includes products, clients, etc. then your company is likely to grow forward in the next coming months.

3. Are you a necessity or the luxury for the company – If you are someone that hardly moves the needle for your company, you’re more likely to be laid off but if the company can’t perform in your absence, you probably will stay in the company.

In short, it will come down to individuals what they wish to do with their company but I will agree that this panic has created more employment problems than the pandemic itself.”
