COVID 19 and sudden lock-down, has impacted businesses and jobs in various sectors, but digital marketing has a different story. It remained unaffected mostly and is expected to witness a continuous boom. Many people are considering bringing their conventional marketing practices into the digital platform, and this is a good sign of change. We can say that COVID 19 has acted as a catalyst to see things with a new perspective.
The World Wars brought social and industrial changes, this pandemic and crisis will have another impact, on people’s attitudes with lifestyle and work. As a content writer in the digital marketing team, with a Kolkata based company; we had the opportunity to start working from home a few days prior, the formal lock-down was announced.
I also had a conversation with my contemporaries who are in freelance writing and the scenario is similar. More businesses are embracing the online platform and there is a growing need of work for the digital marketers and content writers. There may be currently some paying issues as everybody is facing economical strains, there could be low pay or lesser remuneration, but as time passes by; this will alleviate.
In short, Digital marketing jobs are gaining significance now and will continue to outshine after the COVID 19 crisis.
